Job Summary
The AGM – Accounts is responsible for overseeing the accounting function, ensuring timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with statutory regulations, managing internal controls, and leading the accounts team. The role supports business planning by providing accurate financial information and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of the general ledger.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare Management Information System (MIS) reports.
- Analyze financial performance and present reports to senior management.
- Monitor key financial ratios and business performance indicators.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in annual budgeting and financial planning.
- Monitor budget utilization and analyze variances.
- Recommend cost optimization measures.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Supervise vendor payments and customer collections.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payable aging.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
Treasury & Cash Flow
- Monitor cash flow and working capital.
- Coordinate with banks regarding loans, guarantees, and banking transactions.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts.
Internal Controls
- Develop and implement accounting policies and SOPs.
- Strengthen internal financial controls.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the accounts team.
- Allocate work and monitor performance.
- Provide training and ensure process improvements.
ERP & Systems
- Ensure effective utilization of ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Support automation and digital transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
- MBA (Finance), M.Com, CMA, or equivalent qualification may also be considered depending on organizational requirements.
Experience
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
- At least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Experience in manufacturing, infrastructure, EPC, FMCG, or similar industries (as applicable).
