Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Accounts is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, reconciliations, and supporting financial planning activities. The role ensures accuracy in accounting records and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Manage daily accounting activities and bookkeeping.
- Verify vouchers, invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Maintain general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in finalization of accounts and audit processes.
- Generate MIS reports and financial analysis for management.
Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory regulations.
- Prepare and file tax returns and related documentation.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Reconciliation
- Perform bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation regularly.
- Reconcile vendor and customer accounts.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in budget preparation and expense monitoring.
- Analyze variances and suggest corrective actions.
Team Coordination
- Supervise junior accounting staff.
- Provide guidance and training to team members.
- Coordinate with other departments for financial data and approvals.
ERP & Systems
- Work on accounting software/ERP systems such as Tally, SAP, Oracle, or Zoho Books.
- Ensure proper documentation and record maintenance.
