Black Smith – Operation [RMD]

1. Job Purpose

To take responsibility for the assigned working area by performing various types of maintenance activities, managing operational spares, and ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient execution of day-to-day operations.

2. Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform blacksmith-related maintenance, fabrication, repairing, and modification work as per operational requirements.
• Take ownership of the assigned working area and ensure proper maintenance of equipment, tools, and machinery.
• Carry out different types of maintenance activities to minimize equipment breakdowns and operational interruptions.
• Manage, maintain, and ensure the availability of necessary spares, tools, and consumables.
• Support day-to-day operational activities and coordinate with the maintenance team for timely execution of assigned jobs.
• Identify maintenance-related issues and take appropriate corrective measures.
• Ensure proper utilization and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Maintain workplace housekeeping and follow all prescribed safety standards and SOPs.
• Coordinate with seniors of the department to ensure smooth workflow and operational efficiency.

3. Educational Qualification

• ITI / relevant technical qualification in the respective trade.
• Candidates with relevant practical experience in blacksmith work, fabrication, and industrial maintenance.

4. Experience

• Experience in industrial maintenance, blacksmith work, fabrication, and equipment repairing.
• Fresh ITI candidates with relevant technical knowledge.

5. Required Skills & Competencies

• Practical knowledge of blacksmith and maintenance-related activities.
• Basic understanding of industrial tools, equipment, and maintenance practices.
• Ability to manage operational spares and maintenance requirements.
• Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach towards maintenance.
• Good coordination, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and safety awareness.

6. Key Performance Expectations

• Timely completion of assigned maintenance activities.
• Effective management and availability of operational spares.
• Minimization of equipment downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance.
