Key Responsibilities

• Perform chemical and physical analysis of:
  • Iron ore
  • Coal/anthracite
  • Dolomite & limestone
  • Sponge iron (DRI)
  • Pig iron and ferro alloys
• Conduct laboratory testing using standard methods and instruments.
• Monitor process quality parameters during production.
• Prepare and standardize chemical solutions and reagents.
• Maintain laboratory instruments such as:
  • HPLC/GC (where applicable)
  • Spectrometer
  • pH meter
  • Moisture analyzer
  • UV/IR instruments
• Record, interpret, and report test results accurately.
• Ensure compliance with:
  • ISO standards
  • NABL/IMS requirements
  • Safety procedures
  • SOPs and quality protocols
• Handle calibration and maintenance schedules of lab equipment.
• Support internal/external audits and quality investigations.
• Coordinate with production and QA teams for corrective actions.
• Maintain proper documentation, logbooks, and lab housekeeping.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of chemical testing and metallurgy.
• Understanding of DRI/sponge iron manufacturing process.
• Familiarity with IS standards and quality systems.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Knowledge of GMP/GLP/QMS practices is preferred.
