In a DRI plant, an Electrical Foreman supervises electrical maintenance and operations for production equipment, utilities, and plant electrical systems. The role focuses on safety, breakdown maintenance, manpower handling, and uninterrupted plant operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise electricians, technicians, and contract manpower.
• Maintain electrical systems in DRI kilns, conveyors, ESPs, motors, drives, MCCs, transformers, and switchgear.
• Attend electrical breakdowns and ensure minimum downtime.
• Plan preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Monitor HT/LT panels, VFDs, PLC systems, and power distribution.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Coordinate with production, mechanical, and utility departments.
• Maintain daily maintenance logs, shutdown records, and spare inventory.
• Guide team members in troubleshooting electrical faults.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions in plant areas.
