A Junior Foreman (AC) in an Integrated Steel Plant generally handles operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of air-conditioning and ventilation systems used across plant offices, control rooms, substations, MCC rooms, CCRs, laboratories, and residential/utilities areas.

Typical Job Description (JD):

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise installation, operation, and maintenance of:
  • Central AC plants
  • HVAC systems
  • Split/window AC units
  • Ventilation and exhaust systems
  • Chillers and cooling units
• Monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Lead technicians and contract workers during maintenance jobs.
• Ensure proper functioning of cooling systems in critical plant areas.
• Diagnose faults in compressors, motors, refrigerant lines, thermostats, and electrical controls.
• Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and spare inventory.
• Coordinate with electrical/mechanical departments during shutdowns and emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and work permits.
• Monitor energy efficiency and minimize downtime.
