Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor steel melting furnaces such as:
  • Electric Arc Furnace (EAF)
  • Induction Furnace (IF)
  • Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF)
• Ensure proper charging of:
  • Scrap
  • Sponge iron (DRI)
  • Ferro alloys
  • Fluxes and additives
• Control melting parameters:
  • Temperature
  • Power input
  • Oxygen/carbon injection
  • Slag chemistry
• Take metal samples and coordinate with laboratory for chemical analysis.
• Maintain required steel grade and composition as per production plan.
• Monitor tapping operations and molten metal transfer safely.
• Coordinate with:
  • Crane operators
  • CCM (Continuous Casting Machine) team
  • Maintenance department
  • Quality department
• Ensure furnace refractory health and lining condition.
• Minimize:
  • Power consumption
  • Electrode consumption
  • Yield loss
• Follow safety procedures and PPE compliance strictly.
• Maintain production logs and shift reports.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of steel melting process and metallurgy
• Understanding of furnace operation
• Ability to read temperature and chemical reports
• Problem-solving during heat process
• Safety awareness in high-temperature operations
• Team coordination and shift handling
