RMP OPERATOR

JD – RMP / RMHS Operator (DRI Mechanical)

In a Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) / Sponge Iron plant, an RMP or RMHS Operator works in the Raw Material Preparation / Raw Material Handling System section and is responsible for smooth handling, processing, and feeding of raw materials like iron ore, coal, dolomite, and limestone to the kiln or production system.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate RMHS/RMP equipment such as:
  • Conveyors
  • Crushers
  • Screens
  • Feeders
  • Stackers & reclaimers
  • Hoppers and bins
• Monitor material flow and ensure uninterrupted feeding to DRI kiln/process.
• Check operating parameters like:
  • Belt speed
  • Motor load
  • Temperature
  • Vibration
  • Material size and moisture
• Perform routine inspection, lubrication, and minor maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Coordinate with mechanical maintenance team during breakdowns and shutdowns.
• Identify equipment abnormalities and report defects immediately.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in plant area.
• Prepare shift logbooks and operational reports.
• Follow SOPs, PPE usage, and safety procedures strictly.
